Summary
According
to the article “Stress Symptoms, Signs, & Causes” stress can be defined as
a body’s reaction due to some unusual and threatened circumstance. When some
treat is perceived, the nervous system reacts by releasing stress hormones such
as adrenaline and cortisol. The stress is a natural body’s defense that can,
sometimes, be beneficial or not. For example in emergency situations like
avoiding some accident to happen, stress can give the body extra strength to
respond to it. Also, when one person has an important test, the stress status
can lead him/her to focus more. On the other hand, the stress becomes harmful
when it starts to damage for the body’s health as well as for the productivity,
mood and quality of life.
The circumstances that cause the
stress status are called stressors that are anything that demand the body to
force and adjust to some condition. The stress can have both external and
internal causes. First, the examples of external motivation are: major life
changes, work and study hard, relationship difficulties, and financial
problems. In terms of internal motivation can be chronic worry, pessimism,
negative self-talk, unrealistic expectations, and lack of flexibility.
Long time exposing to stress status
can cause serious effect such as health problems once stress can involve all
body system. Some effects that are caused by overstress are: pains, heart diseases,
sleep problems, weight problems, digestive problems and also a deep depression.
The article mentions that stressful situations are unavoidable; however, there some ways to learn how to manage stress such as avoid unnecessary situations, adapt to the stressor, exercise regularly, get plenty of sleep, have a relaxation time.

stress status can be beneficial for our body or not. It’s very important to realize
when it turns from a good body’s answer to a harmful condition because the
negatives effect of the stress can provoke serious health problems and also causes
a decrease of the quality of life. This way, it’s essential to be aware of the
reasons that can cause stress and try to be affected by them.
