According to the article "Obesity : Paying a Heavy Price" define the Obesity term, and its causes. First, the obesity is defined as having an extra fat or weight that is far above of the ideal body weight. The article mentioned the main factor of the obesity causes and divided into three groups: Poor food choice, lack of exercise, and lack of awareness. the first cause is poor food choice. These days people prefer eating fast food which is high in fats and cholesterol, and contain lots of carbohydrates. The body converts the sugar and fats into body fat. The second cause is lack of exercise. Many people eat too many calories and don't do enough exercise to burn these calories. The third factor is lack of awareness about good good eating habits. The article explains that advertising makes people confused about a specific kinds of commercial processed foods, and conflicting information about diets, and what medical experts said that confused people about diets and healthy eating. Next, The article " The cause of Obesity", author James M. Jeffords wrote about many factors that cause the obesity problem. First factor is genetic, for instance, parents who are obese their children have a highly percent to become obese. Also, children who develop obesity increase their chances of developing obesity as an adult. Jeffords state that research shows that pregnancy woman who is obese increase the chance of obesity of her baby at time of giving birth and may contribute the obesity in woman. Another factor is Diet which can sometimes lead to eat disorderly and cause obesity.” Research discovered that the consumption of sugar sweetened beverages (SSBS) may cause obesity”. Third Factor is lack of sleep; people who sleep less than seven hours at nigh are more likely to obese. The poorly understood factor that connected the obesity is depression. Another factor is the side effects of medication, people who take certain medication which include antidepressants, anti-seizure medications, diabetes medications, antipsychotic medications, steroids and beta blockers lead increasing the weight. In The article "What Are the Health Risks of Overweight and Obesity?" state what the risks ( the effects) of the obesity that many people may not know about and explains every effects in detail. Obesity effects are Coronary Heart Disease, High Blood Pressure, stroke, Type 2 Diabetes, Abnormal blood fats, cancer, etc.
Commentary:
In my point of view this is a problem that leads to different problems. The government Should make Awareness campaign about the effects of Obesity. Also, the schools and workplace have to make exercise lessons once a week.
