SUMMARY:
Having regular music lessons improves the brain's ability to read and respond to sounds. And Learning to sing or play a musical instrument can help disadvantaged children improve their reading skills.Music lessons in early childhood lead to changes in the brain that could improve its performance far into adulthood, researchers say.And from many results they all suggest that  it might be better to start musical training before age seven, which is consistent with what most piano teachers recommend. Some scientists also did the survey they found out that The brain's cortex plays a leading role in scores of crucial abilities, from thought and language to memory and attention. The region matures rapidly in the early years of life, and its development could be affected more if a person started musical training before it fully matured .Early musical training does more good for kids than just making it easier for them to enjoy music. It changes the brain and these brain changes could lead to cognitive advances as well!
COMMENT:
When I was a 5 years old my mom sent me to the piano classes, because my parents thoughts that   music appeared to remodel the brain to improve the connections between sounds and meaning. And playing piano is the common way for children to learn the music. It‘s really improve my language learning. After i went to the primary school .In my opinion moving in time to a steady beat is closely linked to better language skills. It seems that the same ingredients that are important for reading are strengthened with musical experience. Musicians have highly consistent auditory-neural responses. It may be that musical training - with its emphasis on rhythmic skills - can exercise the auditory-system, leading to less neural jitter and stronger sound-to-meaning associations that are so essential for learning to read.In one word learning music can really help children to improve their language and reading skills.Parents can try to send  their children to learn music if their childs interests in this for their own good!
